The aim of this course is to provide persons with the understanding and skills to use breathing apparatus
Who Should Attend?
All persons who are required to wear breathing apparatus for part of their job, because they are working in a confined space with hazardous gases /vapours, on an oxygen deficient atmosphere or for other applications requiring the wearing of breathing apparatus.
What will they learn?
The aim of this course is to provide persons with the understanding and skills to use breathing apparatus. At the completion of the course participants will be able to:
Conduct pre-donning checks and tests on breathing apparatus
Operate breathing apparatus
Close down breathing apparatus operations
Recognition of Prior Learning
Your history of study, skills and experience can be taken into account but it must support the criteria included in the above units of competency. Documentary evidence and interview will be required.
How will I be assessed and what will I receive?
Your competencies will be assessed through completion of theory and practical exercises. Upon successful completion of the course you will be issued with a Statement of Attainment for the unit MSMWHS216 Operate breathing apparatus.
