ECT Environmental, Inc. was originated as Environmental Compliance Training in San Diego, California in 1993 when Walter Amenta, CIH, developed an EPA approved training organization for certifying Asbestos workers, contractor/supervisors, inspectors, and other professionals as required by EPA to work in schools and by OSHA for worker protection. Mr. Amenta acquired his California Certified Asbestos Consultant license (CAC), progressed to Industrial Hygienist I.T. (IHIT), and then achieved his Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH).
He developed programs for Lead worker training, OSHA construction safety training, and Asbestos management plans for hospitals and facilities throughout Southern California.
When Cal-OSHA began regulating Asbestos training in California in 2000, ECT developed training programs now in use throughout the state. When the California Department of Public Health (CDPH) began regulating Lead training, ECT became a full service Lead training provider.
