In this class you will learn:
Not to be afraid of your overlocker
The correct way to thread the overlocker and how to change the thread
Achieve the correct tension for a range of finishes
Overlock around curves and corners
Seams for different fabrics
Rolled hems
Gathering
Applying elastic
Flat locking and blind hem
Additional threads, sample fabrics and class notes will be supplied on the day. You just need to bring your own threaded overlocker (and manual).

Cross stitching is both fun and meditative – and it’s very easy to learn! This beginner’s class will cover all of the basics, and get you started on creating your very own mini cross stitch masterpiece.
This course covers all of the things that an overlocker can do. We cover tensions, threading, seams, edges, rolled hems and gathering in the first week. The second week is learning to turn corners, manage curves and start and finish ends.
You will learn the fundamentals of sewing with an electric machine, sewing and alteration techniques. You will also develop an understanding of fabric types and their uses.
Sew Fun 4 Kids is an enjoyable and fun “learn to sew” and craft program designed for kids of all ages including adults. The sewing program introduces the basic skills and practical techniques of dressmaking and fashion.
If you're a complete newbie or have some basic sewing skills but don't feel confident enough to tackle your own projects, we offer two learn to sew courses that will get you started. If you want to use a commercial pattern, Basic Dressmaking is for you.
