This course provides teacher candidates with an overview of teaching fundamental movement skills, active living and healthy living by investigating the three strands in the Health and Physical Education curriculum.
Theoretical and practical Health and Physical Education aspects as well as the fundamental concepts for each of the three strands are explored in this introductory course.
The curriculum content will involve activities and strategies for promoting healthy active living as well as health-related content. Students will focus on the development of physical literacy and health literacy, and investigate concepts of inclusion, mental health, mindfulness and their impact on students’ academic success and overall wellness.?
