Aim
Gain the basic first aid skills needed to quickly and effectively act during a medical emergency involving an infant or child.

Demonstrate Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) on a Infant and Child using manikins

Recognition and treatment of medical conditions, i.e. anaphylaxis

Individuals who complete the Level 3 Emergency Paediatric First Aid course will have the knowledge and abilities necessary to respond to emergency paediatric first aid scenarios such as choking and convulsions.
This 1-day course is certified by the Resuscitation Council (UK) and focuses on the immediate care of the seriously ill child, and the initial resuscitation of infants and children who are in respiratory or cardio-respiratory arrest.
This course is an apprenticeship, a job with training for new and existing staff employed in a schooland in a teaching support role for example, teaching assistant, learning support assistant,pastoral/welfare support assistant, etc.
This qualification is aimed at people who want to be able to provide basic first aid in situations that can arise when looking after children/infants.
