Course Details

These courses are a legal requirement and approved by OFSTED, Early Years Foundation Stage and the DfES Approved Carers Scheme. You can choose between a 12-hour Paediatric First Aid course run over 2 days face-to-face or may opt for the popular 6-hour (one day) face-to-face, combined with the remaining online; which is our Blended Learning course, but still gives you the full 12-hour certificate lasting three years.

The Emergency Paediatric First Aid course is only a one-day certificate with 6 hours of face-to-face training, again certificate lasting three years. We deliver our training onsite in your workplace or can offer venues across Surrey, Sussex & London.

These courses are designed for all those working with children, particularly those working with Early Years, certificates last three years, and yearly refreshers are available and advised but not essential.

Both courses contain the syllabus required by governing bodies, courses will equip you with the knowledge to provide First Aid & Basic Life Support to adults, children and infants to protect staff and parents.

Every course will be adapted and unique to the childcare provider, whether that’s a school or childminder, the will be tailored to your individual workplace needs.

  • CPR and use of AED machine

  • Anaphylaxis and use of EPIpen (autoinjector pens)

  • Electric Shock

  • Scald & Burns

  • Breaks, Fractures & Sprains

  • Head, Neck & Spinal Injuries

  • Poisoning

  • Bites & Stings

  • Ear, Nose & Eye Injuries

  • Managing body temperature

  • Diabetes, Asthma & Allergies

  • Seizures, Sepsis & Meningitis

  • Shock

  • Dealing with unconscious casualty

  • Managing an emergency situation

  • Chain of Survival

  • Recovery Position

  • Role of the First Aider

  • Contents of the First Aid Kit
