This lab course introduces students to Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Photoshop as they are used in fashion and textile design. These digital tools allow students to build on fundamental sketching techniques using pixels instead of paint.
Start by exploring fabric design through simple stamping (don't worry, you don't need to be an artistic genius!), creating your own stamps & printing your fabric in the first two classes.
Sometimes the most frustrating element of sewing is understanding fit. In this class we will take proper body measurements and learn how they correspond with the various pattern brands. We will also learn the terms and techniques commonly used on patterns and how to understand the instructions.
