Suitable for anyone required to undertake the application and monitoring of 12 Lead ECG. To enable the practitioner to provide safe, competent and effective 12 Lead Electrocardiography

Module content includes: 

  • Anatomy and physiology

  • Indications for undertaking ECG

  • Lead placement and trouble shooting

  • Simulated practice

  • Basic interpretation and referral

Please note that vacancies on this course are limited to 20 per session. Therefore, places are competitive, and we cannot guarantee your chosen date, in the event your chosen cohort is fully booked we will automatically defer you to the next available session.

entry requirements

Confirmation of support from your line manager, access to a supervising practitioner with experience and competence in 12 lead ECG and recording.

All attendees will be required to wear PPE (Personal Protection Equipment) following the current Government guidelines regarding COVID-19. All PPE equipment will be provided on the day. 

assessment

Tutor assessment throughout the session. Students are provided with a competency profile to use as a framework within their practice to identify suitability to perform venepunctures.
