Personal Safety and Social Responsibilities Course is Offered by Bluewater Maritime School.
Students who successfully complete this 4-hour course will satisfy the PSSR training and competency requirements of STCW Code Section A-VI/1 and 46 CFR 11.302(a)(4) and CFR 12.602(d)(4).

Established in 1998, our school started by providing training for professionals in the maritime industry. Not long after, we also provided our services to private individuals, industry, and the military. We embarked on our nonprofit mission in February 2001.
The Basic Safety Training course provides the necessary training to meet the Standards of Training, Certification, and Watchkeeping (STCW 2010) code, tables A-VI/1-1 through A-VI/1-4 as required by the USCG and the IMO.
Those Who Successfully Complete The Course Should Be Able To Demonstrate Sufficient Knowledge To Undertake The Duties Assigned Under The Ship Security Plan.
This course is taught as part of Basic Training, and individually for those mariners who only need the Basic Firefighting portion of STCW Basic Training. This course satisfies the training requirements of mariners seeking their National Endorsement as Tankerman.
This course will also be of value to others operating vessels on the water who may not be seeking U.S. Coast Guard documents, licenses or endorsements, or whose experience is not up to the minimum requirements established under ideal conditions.
This course satisfies the Management of Medical Care training requirements for raising of grade to Chief Mate or Master (management level) on vessels of more than 500GT (ITC), and for Masters of vessels of less than 500GT (management level).
