A holistic program designed for 3-5 year olds that incorporates the social and emotional well-being of children including sharing, taking turns, listening, making friends, feeling safe and supported, praise and encouragement, gross motor skills, spacial awareness, separation, creativity, musicality and the dance foundations of course. They’re FUN with purpose!
Our Petites love using props like scarves, hoops, bean bags, ribbons, and more! We use obstacle courses for full participation, coordination, and stability, as well as assisting in learning and developing gross motor skills, body awareness, and the foundations of dance.
Our journey at Maxi-Jazz Dance Studio started with founder Maxine Johnson in 1987, orginally known as Maxi-Jazz School Of Dance.
Maxine created a studio culture full of love, support, amazing performance opportunities for all students and a leader in the dance industry for over 20 years.
We have learnt, grown and developed so much over the past 33 years and will continue to share our passion for the performing arts, lead the way in ‘doing things differently’ for dance studios, and empower students to become more than they ever imagined possible.
At MJDS we are continually working towards a studio environment that makes students feel included and everyone is welcome to express themselves through the are of dance. Our teacher celebrate achievements, respecting that each student learns in different ways.It is with your help that we create an inclusive studio full of Acceptance and ensure our students and families receive the best dance experience and education.
Our baby dance program is especially designed for littlies as young as 18 months old. All classes in this inspirational section of our school incorporate creative dance & movement through inspiring music guaranteeing the perfect introduction to dance for any little boy or girl.
We will be teaching the newly created Jazz Magic syllabus for this age group by Australian Teachers of Dancing in 2019. It is an exciting syllabus taught to all of the kids favourite, upbeat music from lots of recent movies. we will also teach some Hip Hop and Tap in this combo class.
Ready Set Dance is a combo class that includes Jazz, Tap, Hip Hop, Singing And Music!
Expressing Ourselves With Grace And Creativity. Ribbon Gumnuts enjoy exploring more advanced choreographic concepts at this level. Children also extend their knowledge of dance technique, increasing their confidence and sense of self.
Our youngest ABDS dancers the Bambini class is the perfect class for your little one to fall in love with dance.
