The session will begin with a theoretical component followed by demonstrations and then practise.
Participants will practise on simulation arms – never more than 2 participants per arm.
You will be given ample opportunity to practise on the manikins.
Once confident at taking blood from the manikin you will have the opportunity to take blood from a fellow participant providing they give consent.
Aims of the workshop:
To identify and describe materials and equipment needed in performing the phlebotomy procedure
To be aware with the various phlebotomy sites which are considered acceptable and not acceptable
To perform with a high degree of mastery and efficiency every required step of the phlebotomy process
