I opened Cinnamon’s Quilt Shoppe in Jacksonville, Florida in 2010 with a mission to share my passion for quilting with upcoming generations of quilting enthusiasts and nurture a continuing interest in this time honored craft of stitching.
As a longtime quilter, I used to spend much of my time (and a good deal of my money) at the local quilt shop just up the street from my house. Unfortunately, the shop closed and I found myself traveling a good distance away to purchase materials to support my quilting hobby.
Our adult classes meet once per week for 2 hour sessions. You can choose between 6, 12 and 18 week programs. Classes are all tailored to the abilities and skills of the participants. From complete beginners to advanced sewers there’s always something new to learn!
Learn the parts and functions of your machine and become confident in your ability to operate it. You'll leave this class with your first project, a lined drawstring pouch. (There are a lot of basic sewing techniques in this little project that you can apply to future sewing endeavors.)
Learn basic sewing terminology and types of stitches. Learn how to set up and thread your machine. Practice sewing straight, corners/pivots, and curves and make a bookmark.
Learn how to measure, lay out fabric working with a pattern, cut out, and assemble with our machines .You will learn basic garment construction techniques while making a pajama bottom.
