The aim of the Play Tennis course is to help participants understand how to organise and deliver a tennis session and other tennis activities to beginner level players of all ages.

After the course the coach will be able to work with beginner adult players (ITN 10) and 10 and under children and will have knowledge of basic tactics and technique. The coach will be able to organise simple competitions and use correct equipment and court sizes for beginner players.
At the end of the course, participants will be assessed through a short-written paper covering the key information from the course. As well as a playing ability assessment.
From January 2014, the Play Tennis course is a pre-requisite for the ITF Coaching Beginner and Improver players course.
During the Course:
The Natal Lawn Tennis Association was founded in 1902 and is situated in offices at the Westridge Park Tennis Stadium in Mayville, Durban. In 1996 The Southern Natal Tennis Union
As well as Natal Tennis Association amalgamated with two Co-Presidents namely Mr. Chris Anderson and Mr. E. Osman each being the President for 6 months.
The new name became Tennis Natal. We kept this name for a number of years and were requested by the Municipalities to change our name to Kwa-Zulu Natal Tennis Association.
Tennis Training is offered by Glenashley Tennis Club for all ages and skill level.
Tennis Training Lessons are offered by Ethekwini Tennis Association for all ages and skill level.
We have 2 excellent, professional tennis coaches who can work with you to develop your game.
Tennis coaching is offered by Durban North Tennis Club for all ages and skill level. DNTC offers both social and competitive tennis, as well as professional coaching.
Tennis Training is offered by Curro Tennis for all ages and skill level. Our vision is to produce players that can compete at the highest level internationally hence becoming the benchmark for tennis development in Africa.
