Plumbing and Pipefitting

The Plumbing and Pipefitting course is designed to equip trainees with the essential knowledge and skills required for proficient plumbing and pipe fitting. Throughout the training, participants will learn to install common plumbing and sanitary fittings for toilets, including copper pipe installation, sanitary pipes, fittings, and appliances.

Additionally, the course focuses on fostering good plumbing and pipefitting practices, along with promoting worksite safety measures in relation to plumbing and sanitary activities.

Course Outline

• General Knowledge of Cold-Water Systems and Fittings: Trainees will acquire an understanding of the fundamentals of cold-water systems and the fittings associated with them. This includes learning about the components, connections, and distribution methods.

• General Knowledge of Sanitary Plumbing and Venting System: Participants will delve into the basics of sanitary plumbing systems and the venting arrangements necessary for efficient plumbing installations. Topics covered include drainage, waste disposal, and ventilation systems.

• Interpretation of Symbols: Trainees will be introduced to the interpretation of symbols commonly used in plumbing and pipefitting blueprints and diagrams. This skill is essential for understanding and implementing plumbing plans accurately.

• Good Practices of Pipe Fittings: Practical techniques for effectively fitting and connecting pipes will be taught. Participants will learn various methods of joining pipes, ensuring leak-free and secure connections.

• General Safety: Safety is paramount in plumbing and pipefitting work. This section of the course will cover safety protocols, precautions, and best practices to ensure the well-being of both workers and the work environment.
