To participate in this course our recommendation is that you are 16 years of age or above and you must have completed HLTAID011 Provide First Aid certificate.
You must be aware of when your pool lifeguard qualification expires. Industry has determined that a pool lifeguard certificate must be updated every 12 months by undertaking a requalification course.
Once the date of expiry has passed you will be unable to work and unable to take a requalification course and will be required to enrol in a full course.
Please note as of 1st September 2022 the Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC) have advised Registered Training Organisations that training and assessment activities undertaken during First Aid and CPR courses will revert to pre-COVID conditions.
This means learners will be required to demonstrate rescue breathing techniques on manikins and not simulate such skills to the side of the manikin as previously allowed during the pandemic.
Learners will not have the opportunity to request an exemption from providing rescue breaths if they wish to gain a competent result in the Unit of Competency and/or qualification.

We provide a range of professional courses to companies, government bodies and other groups. We have been passing on skills and wisdom for over 100 years.
As the leading provider of surf safety, we extend our educational activities to coastal, rural, indigenous and international community groups.
We provide various programs and educational information through different means, including commercial advertising, school-based programs, peak body advice, awareness and self-survival courses, and educational tours.
