From there students will be shown how to create their very own masterpieces on the wheel and make between 2-4 pieces (usually consisting of bowls, cups, vases, dishes etc.)
Your favourite piece will be glazed and fired for pick up 4-5 weeks after your class! Class capacity is 16 people. These classes run only Saturdays and Sundays. Class availability is online below.
Our humble studios are your new second home. Céramiques studios are wheel-based ceramic workshops, dedicated to providing a tranquil, free-flowing space to cultivate creativity and relaxation.
Spaces for you to explore pottery, develop your wheel work skills, and discover the thrill of turning a chunk of clay into a delicate and beautiful piece. For us, pottery isn’t just about churning out a mug and saucer (although they’re lovely).
Its about a love and passion for assisting you with the process of exploring and expressing your creativity. The piece you get to take home with you is the tangible result, but the experience you have in our studio is our number one priority.
If you just want to have a try and are not ready for our short-term classes, then our taster classes are best for you! Within two hours you will learn the skills of basic wheel throwing and make two works on the wheels.
Clay is such a versatile material, you can create anything you want with it. If you want to get into pottery but desire something a little more creative and inspiring than plain pottery, then this is the class for you. Â
Our pottery classes are held weekly with this new term running for seven weeks (instead of our usual eight weeks due to potentially moving studios!!), covering all the skills required to bring a ball of clay to life on the potter's wheel
Slapping out slabs of clay can produce fabulous platters by hand, curls up the edges to create a rim, using bowls as molds and decorating surface treatment creates beautiful salad bowls and a couple of pinch pots with spoons for salt and pepper. No experience needed to make your food and table come
Lay the foundations for the art of creating ceramics using a pottery wheel; start your journey with building basic skills and throwing basic shapes that will later on be fired and glazed by us for you to be proud of and enjoy for years to come!
