Infection control and prevention refer to evidence-based procedures and practices that, when applied correctly, can prevent or reduce the risk of transmission of infectious illness to all stakeholders within the organisation including aged care staff, clients, residents and visitors.
The Department of Health Guidelines outlined in this module should be followed at all times when donning and doffing PPE. These are based on advice from the Infection Control Expert Group.
These guidelines may change from time to time in order to reflect current best practice recommendations
