As a member of the British Theatre Dance Association, Starlight Theatre School offers a complete curriculum of courses for the beginning student through to those of a professional calibre.
Whether you are a young child or an advanced dancer, you will receive only the finest in dance education.
Each pupil is considered an individual and treated as such, so classes and lessons are planned carefully to allow each pupil to blossom in their own time.
All students participate in our 4 core exam subjects which are ballet, Tap, Modern & Lyrical dance enabling them to receive rounded dance training. Additional subjects can then be ‘bolted on’ to tailor the needs of every student.
We have a successful track record with a high number of students going on to professional training and work in the musical theatre/ dance industry.
Tap dance is a form of dance using specialised shoes with metal taps attached to its soles. Using these shoes, tap dancers strike the floor as a form of percussion pleasing to the ears!
Tap is another very popular form of dance and it is ideal for developing rhythm and timing in all ages. Tap dancing focuses on developing strength in the feet, ankles and thighs and is also good for improving balance.
Ages 6-8. Basic ballet technique with little or no prior training.
Inter Tap classes are offered by Bailey-Cox Dance Academy. We believe that versatility in different dance forms is essential for those seeking a career in dance and high quality, experienced teaching from earliest years gives the best possible advantage to our students.
This is where the dancer performs wearing special shoes which enable him/ her to strike the floor, beating out different rhythms to give a distinctive sound. This dance form is again found in Musical productions and is also a theatrical art.
