Free trade, globalization and liberalization of market will undoubtedly accelerate business growth in the Asia Pacific region. With these dynamic changes in the free trade operating environment, businesses will face more challenges from even more demanding cross-border movements of goods and services. Therefore, there is a serious need for logistics and supply chain solution to ensure firms in Malaysia could obtain competitive edge in order to be competitive globally. In conjunction to the above phenomenon, Ministry of International Trade and Industry, has mooted the idea of setting up an establishment that could synergies the development of logistics and supply chain industry through enhancement of human capital development in area of logistics supply chain.
In 2008, Malaysian Logistics and Supply Chain Association was inaugurated to meet the above purpose and also to proliferate various dimension of opportunities cum challenges in the logistics and transport industry ranging from macro to micro perspective.

Established in 2008, the MALAYSIA LOGISTICS AND SUPPLY CHAIN ASSOCIATION (MLSCA) is recognized as the national logistics and supply chain authority The Malaysian Logistics and Supply Chain Association (MLSCA) is a professional body representing the logistics industries in Malaysia. It is a membership based organization with over 200 active members representing all the 13 states in Malaysia. This professional body is also known as the “Persatuan Logistic dan Rantai Pembekal Malaysia”, or in English, Malaysian Logistics & Supply Chain Association (MLSCA).
The principal objective of the MLSCA “To promote and encourage the application of effective and efficient practices of logistics and supply chain across all respective industries”, which it achieves both through its membership and professional qualifications.
