Established 1996 in Rangiora by Dale Hartley-Brown L.T.C.L., B.A., the school offers classes in drama, dance and singing to North Canterbury children and gives them an opportunity to perform for the local community at various times through the year.
With as many as ten qualified teachers working in the school at any one time, students range from five years and up. Drama and Dance Examinations, Speech & Drama Competitions, Theatresports Competitions, Major Musical Productions, Singing, Tap, Jazz, Contemporary & Hip Hop Dancing, private and group Drama lessons are a just a few of the options available to students.
The school produces two Major Musical Productions each year at the Rangiora Town Hall, in July and September, a Theatresports Play Off Evening in Term One as well as at least one other recital event to allow students to present performance pieces they have been working on to family and friends.
The school is a training school for tutors, where they learn their skill, sit their exams and acheive their Diploma. From there they are given the chance to teach their skill to others in a structured environment, overseen by Company Director, Dale Hartley-Brown.
This continual injection of young, new talented tutors is our point of difference and what draws our young students to our classes. While still offering quality classes, we offer great role models and a chance for students to feel that they can move up the ladder and achieve great things.
Our tutors have gone on to work with Court Theatre, several major Theatre Production companies in Christchurch, and to Direct for Theatre Groups around the area. All this while maintaining ties with our school, where they started out.
Our school promotes a family environment and a safe and encouraging place for young people to spread their wings and build skills that will last them a lifetime.
We aim to teach quality performance skills as well as valuable life skills.
