Established in 1983 as part of the Royal Selangor Flying Club, the Malaysian Flying Academy (MFA) initially operated out of the Sungai Besi Military Airbase in Kuala Lumpur. In 1985, MFA was acquired by the Syed Kechik Group of Companies and relocated to its current location in Batu Berendam, Melaka.
Malaysian Flying Academy is the pioneer Aviation Training Organisations (ATO) in Malaysia and is approved and accredited by the Civil Aviation Authority of Malaysia (CAAM) and recognized by the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO). MFA is also acknowledged as the first ATO in Malaysia to adopt the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) electronic examinations into its syllabus upon its implementation. Since 1983, over 2000 pilots have completed their training at MFA and now work with all the leading airlines worldwide.
