Learning to fly helicopters is the world’s best kept secret! The Private Pilot’s Licence, or PPL(H), grants you a licence to fly recreationally, but not for hire or reward (so you can take your friends and family flying as long as you’re not getting paid to fly).
It is however the first step towards a professional licence as you can’t progress onto your commercial studies without it.
Obtaining your PPL(H) with Helicentre Aviation also means you are eligible to apply for our Commercial Pilot Scholarship, providing the successful applicant with significant reductions on the cost of training up to the point you qualify as a professional pilot.
What's included?
Our all-inclusive PPL(H) course is includes the following and is based on the minimum hours required by regulation:
This course offers significant savings compared to paying as you fly. You can even spread the cost over three interest-free installments.
You should be aware that it may take longer than the minimum hours in order to meet the standard required to pass the skill test and you may need to arrange some additional flight training hours.
Helicentre Aviation has become the industry’s trusted provider of professional helicopter pilots. Established in 2001, we pride ourselves in delivering excellence – not just in crew training but as an operator of charter and of utility services to blue-chip clients.
The PPL course offers you the training and experience you need to obtain an extendable licence. At Leicestershire Aero Club, all of our training is approved by the UK Civil Aviation Authority (CAA).
You will learn the basics of handling aircraft both on the ground and in the air. You will navigate and fly from our base airfield to another airfield and land there for a short break. With another briefing you will fly back via a different route.
The Private Pilot License is a combination of practical flight training and theoretical knowledge. Under the guidance and supervision of our experienced instructors we will take you through the minimum 45 flying hours set by the Civil Aviation Authority.
Here at Stapleford Flight Centre in London, we offer a truly comprehensive series of pilot-training aviation courses.
The PPL(H) is the foundation for all your future flying, whether that be recreational, private ownership or commercial purposes. It is the basic qualification that all helicopter pilots achieve first and it opens up the world of helicopter flying to you.
