Program description

  • The curriculum of the BS program in project management is grounded in the latest project management theories and practices. The program provides opportunities for students to apply these practices in professional situations through simulations and other forms of career-connected learning. Students learn the foundations of project leadership and how to manage project costs, schedules, resources, risks and people.

Concurrent program options

  • Students pursuing concurrent degrees (also known as a “double major”) earn two distinct degrees and receive two diplomas. Working with their academic advisors, students can create their own concurrent degree combination. Some combinations are not possible due to high levels of overlap in curriculum.

The Project Management Institute has two options for certification:

  • The Certified Associate Project Manager credential requires 23 hours of project management education and a secondary degree (high school diploma, associate degree or the global equivalent) for students to test.
  • The Project Management Professional credential requires either a 4-year degree and 36 months of experience leading projects within the last eight years or a secondary education diploma (high school diploma, associate degree or the global equivalent) with 60 months of experience leading projects within the past eight years. In addition, students must have 35 hours of project management training to sit for the PMP designation test.
