Course Details

During the AutoCAD Advanced Training Course, engineers will be introduced to a 2D isometric drawing as a bridge towards visualizing and drafting in 3D using the AutoCAD software.

This course will impart the necessary knowledge and skills for aspiring and existing Built Environment professionals to create and modify technical drawings in AutoCAD. Learners will be taken through the basic operation and interface of AutoCAD, and will learn skills to draft and modify in 2D and 3D, create dimension, annotation and texts.

Tips and tricks will also be shared during the class for learners to create drawings and models more efficiently. Learners will be guided in a step-by-step process with bite-size topics to ease the learning curve. This will be coupled with hands-on practice, guided by a qualified instructor to build familiarity on the skills.

 

Course Curriculum:

  • LO1: Identify floor plan, elevation view, section view, detail view, 2D isometric drawings
  • LO2: Understand system requirements for the usage of AutoCAD
  • LO3: Create a new and open existing AutoCAD file
  • LO4: Close and exit AutoCAD safely
  • LO5: Setup drawing configurations
  • LO6: Create and locate coordinate points
  • LO7: Create 2D drawings with drafting and editing tools
  • LO8: Configure Dimension and Text Styles
  • LO9: Place dimensions and annotate texts on 2D drawings and 3D models
  • LO10: Create 2D Block and Group
  • LO11: Create and assign attributes and characteristics to Blocks
  • LO12: Create bill of materials, schedules, parts and data list through data extraction
  • LO13: Explain how and when to use Singapore National CAD Standards Code of Practice 83
  • LO14: Create and manage CP83 layers naming in drawings
  • LO15: Configure paper size in layout for plotting and printing
  • LO16: Use and insert title block for documentation
  • LO17: Create viewport and scale drawings
  • LO18: Generate drawings to PDF and hardcopy
  • LO19: Create 2D isometric drawing
  • LO20: Associate technical drawings with 3D model
  • LO21: Create 3D model from 2D drawing profile
  • LO22: Use modelling tools to create and edit 3D solids
  • LO23: Generate 2D and 3D Section and Detail drawings from 3D model
