Protection From Fire training is offered by Portland State University. Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) supports the PSU community by providing a safe and healthy University environment. The Safety Training Annual Calendar is primarily for Facilities and Construction staff. Other safety training may be provided to other University units throughout the year, as needed.
Portland State University's Intensive English Language Program (IELP) is accredited by the Commission on English Language Program Accreditation (CEA). CEA maintains rigorous standards for English Language Programs and the IELP must meet their standards on a recurring basis.

Fire extinguishers course is offered by Accurate Safety. Fire extinguishers apply an agent that will cool burning heat, smother fuel or remove oxygen so the fire cannot continue to burn.
Fire Watch training is offered by Universal Safety Training Inc. Universal Safety Training Inc. is dedicated to providing the most comprehensive training. Work Safety is a set of measures to be implemented in the workplace as quality assurance and safety of employees.Â
This course satisfies the Advanced Firefighting training requirements of STCW Code Section A-VI/3 and 46 CFR 11.201(h), and 11.303(a). Upon meeting the minimum standard of competence in advanced firefighting, a trainee will be competent to take command, organize and train fire parties.
This class is compliant with 1910.252 and will teach employees how to recognize hazards that could create flammable or combustible environments. Atmospheric monitoring, correct permit writing, and the regulations for working around potentially flammable sources will all be learned.
The Fire Safety Director is responsible for all safety manual filings required by the Los Angeles Fire Department (L.A.F.D.). As certified safety consultants, Universal Safety USA manages the process on your behalf.
