Accidents happen without warning but with first aid training and first aid supplies you will be able to care for a stranger, family member or close friend who requires assistance.

Assess an emergency situation
DRSABCD action plan and recovery position
Causes and management of the unconscious patient
Perform Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
Minor wounds and application of infection control procedures
Manage external bleeding and shock
Burns and electric shock
Eye injuries and soft tissue injuries
Head, chest and abdominal injuries
Manage a casualty suffering extremes of temperature

Course Prerequisites
There are no restrictions on entry to this course however students are required to have sufficient numeracy and literacy skills to read and comprehend instructions.
Units of Competency
Participants who successfully complete all components of the course will be issued a Statement of Attainment for the HLTAID011 Provide first aid, HLTAID010 Provide basic emergency life support and HLTAID009 Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation units of competency.
Course Assessment
You will be assessed throughout the course to show your instructor that you have an appropriate understanding of the procedures necessary to manage a life-threatening situation.
Eagle Training Services uses scenarios to demonstrate how to assess the scene of an accident and how to assess the casualty to determine if their condition is life threatening. In these mock situations you are required to use the knowledge you have learnt and administer immediate first aid to help the casualty survive.
Course Delivery & Duration
Classes commence at 8:30am and finish at 4:00pm on both days. All students are required to be present 15 minutes before course commencement time. Late arrivals may be refused from the course as a failure to attend. Training occurs at Eagle Training Services training facilities located in Darwin & Alice Springs.
Participants undertake the course in comfortable, air-conditioned classrooms with the latest IT and audiovisual capabilities. Students are supported through the provision of high quality learning materials and resources.
With this in mind we are able to offer an extensive range of safety courses which can be tailored to meet your specific organisational needs. We are able to offer on site training for your organisation or public courses within our training facility. All safety courses come with hands on practical application and training.
This Provide First Aid course is delivered as a 7 hour face-to-face training session, plus breaks. We offer weekly public attendance first aid courses at our Mayfield West training centre or we can come to your workplace.
This accredited workshop is designed to provide students with an up-to-date knowledge of correct procedures for applying first aid and providing CPR. Upon completion of this course, students will receive accredited tickets to recognise their competency.
Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) courses teach participants how to assist people who are developing a mental health problem, experiencing a worsening of an existing mental health problem or in a mental health crisis, until appropriate professional help is received or the crisis resolves.
The HLTAID011 Provide First Aid course allows students to learn and develop the foundational skills and knowledge to be able to provide proper first aid responses and life support as well as manage casualties and accident sites until qualified emergency services arrive
This unit provides the skills and knowledge required to provide a first aid response to a casualty in line with first aid guidelines. determined by the Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC) and other Australian national peak clinical bodies.
