PTE

PTE (The Pearson Test of English) a unit of Pearson PLC group conducts two tests to judge the English proficiency of non-native users who are aspiring for a career abroad.

The name of the two entrance exam conducted by Pearson is Pearson Test of English Academic (PTE Academic) and Pearson Test of English General (PTE General)
The two exams are very distinct from each other:

In the PTE Academic exam format there are four sections (exactly like IELTS exam) Reading, Listening, Speaking and Writing.

the General exam, there are two segments, further divided into six sections altogether. The PTE General test has primarily two sections-a written paper and a spoken test The written segment is further divided into Listening, reading comprehension and writing skills sections.

The PTE Academic and General exams are to be taken depending on the goal of the students.
