Professional Development Outside The Classroom

Our students have the opportunity to delve even deeper into the professional world by taking advantage of career exploration trips that our faculty lead to New York City and Seattle, Washington.

In New York, we take students on a whirlwind tour of careers in the media capital of the world with visits to public relations firms and advertising agencies, historic news organizations, leading museums, and a live press conference at the United Nations.

In Seattle, students go behind the scenes at global organizations such as Amazon, Expedia, Microsoft, and the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation to meet with communication professionals and gain firsthand knowledge of career paths from industry pros.

The trip also includes visits to top tourist attractions, social opportunities with Texas State alumni, and even a day hiking in the beautiful Pacific Northwest.
