Course overview

About Our First Aid at Work 3 Day Course

This 3 day RQF course (Regulated Qualifications Framework) is suitable for first aiders working in high risk healthcare settings. The training programme covers a range of essential first aid skills needed for hazardous workplaces within the medical field, ensuring that first aiders are able to respond quickly if someone becomes ill or injured during work hours.

The course includes both practical and theory assessments, so it is recommended that course attendees wear suitable clothing and footwear.

This programme is designed to guide learners over 3 days of training to develop the skills and knowledge to deal with a range of first aid situations.  This course includes: assessing an incident, managing an unresponsive casualty, CPR, heart attacks, choking, head and spinal injuries, fractures, anaphylaxis and more.

What is a First Aid at Work Course?

To meet the Health and Safety (First-Aid) Regulations 1981, employers must provide adequate and appropriate equipment, facilities and people to ensure employees receive the right care if injured in the workplace. This includes appointing the minimum number of first aiders per employee count, and providing them with the latest first aid training.

In order to determine what level of training your first aiders need, you will first need to carry out a first aid needs assessment. While the 1 Day First Aid Course is the minimum requirement for some workplaces, our 3 Day First Aid Course is designed for higher risk environments.

Gain Your Level 3 First Aid at Work Award

With our 3 Day First Aid Course, successful delegates will be awarded with the QA Level 3 Award in First Aid at Work (RQF).

This is a regulated and nationally recognised qualification, with the potential of progression. For instance, the award may be used towards other qualifications at the same or a higher level.

Importance of First Aid Training

In addition to being a legal requirement, first aid training also helps to save lives and support healthcare workers during medical emergencies, such as illness or injuries that happen in the workplace.

Our First Aid at Work 3 Day Course not only ensures that first aiders have the right skills and knowledge to act quickly, but confidence is key – the training helps first aiders respond confidently to a range of emergency situations.

Furthermore, first aid training can improve personal and professional development for team members, creating a happy, healthy and collaborative work environment.

Entry Requirments

Anyone can apply to complete the First Aid at Work award and we encourage people to consider first aid training as this is useful in many situations.

Certification

On successful completion of this course including the examination aspects the student will be awarded the Qualsafe Award of QA level 3 Award in First Aid at Work (RQF).  This is a regulated and nationally recognised qualification.
