A Quality Management Standard (QMS) is a set of policies, processes and procedures required for planning and execution (production / development / service) in the core business area of an organization (i.e. areas that can impact the organization’s ability to meet customer requirements).

ISO 9001:2015 is an example of a Quality Management System. A QMS integrates the various internal processes within the organization and intends to provide a process approach for project execution. A process based QMS enables the organizations to identify measure, control and improve the various core business processes that will ultimately lead to improved business performance. 

Learning Objectives 

On successful completion of this course, the students will be able to: 1.1Explain the purpose of a quality management system, of quality management systems standards,of management system audit,of third party certification and the business benefits of improved performance of the quality management system (see3.1).

  • 1.2 Explain the role and responsibilities of an auditor to plan, conduct,report and follow-upa quality management system audit in accordance with ISO 19011, and ISO/IEC17021,as applicable(see3.2).
  • 1.3 Plan,conduct,report and follow-up an audit of a quality management system to establish conformity(or otherwise) with ISO9001 and in accordance with ISO19011,andISO/IEC 17021,asapplicable(see3.3).  

Course Format

  • Each day is divided into four sessions,two before lunch and two after lunch.

  • The first session precedes the mid-morning break and the second follows mid morning break.
  • The afternoon sessions are similarly divided.
  • The output of the exercise are a part of the formal continuous assessment and will there fore be marked.
  • Although the exercises are group exercises individual score to the delegate will be based on their overall participation.
  • A mock audit–Role play will be conducted on Days 4 & 5 of the Training for the delegates to demonstrate the skills learned and understood during the cour All session are interactive and delegated participation is encouraged.
  • You will need to allow sufficient time to read and understand the notes which have been provided.
