Who Should Attend?
All persons with work activities related to a confined space including those who:
perform work in or on confined spaces
have responsibility for the direct control of work in confined spaces
are involved in emergency response and first aid procedures
AS/NZS 2865 requires reassessment 'at appropriate intervals'. The industry regards reassessment on a two to three year cycle as good practice.
Why Should They Be Reassessed?
The aim of this reassessment is to ensure all persons working within industries which utilise confined spaces are maintaining their competency. It is designed to reassess the basic skills and knowledge which underpin safe work in confined spaces to ensure the health and safety of all persons in accordance with the current legislative requirements of the Work Health and Safety Act and Regulations and AS/NZS 2865.
Prerequisites
Participants are to provide evidence they hold current competencies in confined space entry procedures. These may include competency in the unit Enter and Work in Confined Spaces, or an equivalent course.

identification of the scope of permits to work
safe use of equipment and personal protective equipment
working in accordance with, and complete permitted work in a confined space
application of basic risk management concepts
entering and controlling confined space work
observation of permitted work
concluding confined space operations
emergency response and equipment requirements

This unit describes the skills and knowledge required to operate an elevating work platform at any height. This unit applies to those working in operational roles. The work required in this unit relates to the National Standard for High Risk Work but this unit does not provide the licence.
