Description

This unit of competency specifies the outcomes required to Remove Non-Friable Asbestos-containing material (ACM).

The training includes:

  • preparing, containing and removing non-friable ACM,
  • knowledge of decontamination and disposal requirements.

Site location for work may be either domestic or commercial and may be a:

  • Demolition site,
  • New work site
  • The existing structure being renovated, extended, restored or maintained.

Project sites may be construction sites and may also include:

  • ships,
  • soils in relation to the non-friable asbestos removal process,
  • fences.

Occupational licences are required nationally & work must be completed according to relevant legislative, industry, customer and organisational requirements, including work health and safety (WHS) policies and procedures.

 Participants will need:

  • Hi Vis Shirt or Vest
  • Protective Footwear
  • Please bring your own lunch
  • Water, Tea & Coffee facilities are available

 

Prerequisites

  • (USI) Number-Unique Student Identification. 
  • Be a minimum of 18 years of age
  • Photo proof of ID (drivers licence/Passport)
  • Have basic numeracy skills
  • Demonstrate ability to speak and write English to a basic level
