This unit specifies the outcomes required to perform all duties as a dogman such as slinging techniques, including the selection and inspection of lifting gear and/or the directing of the crane operator in the movement of the load when the load is out of view of the crane/operator for licensing purposes.
Once students have completed their Dogman module, they will progress to a Rigging basic level course.

This basic riggers course provides participants with the required skills and knowledge to enable them to safely and conduct rigging in a variety of situations in compliance with Work Safe WA Standards and Regulations.
Riggers use mechanical load-shifting equipment and associated gear to move, place or secure loads, including plant, equipment or members of a building or structure. Riggers ensure the stability of those members and set up and dismantle cranes and hoists.
