This six-hour online Computer-Based Training (CBT) course is intended to provide Urban Search and Rescue (US&R) Task Force personnel with the knowledge to identify various types of rigging equipment.
Training covers pre-use inspection, required tagging/marking, and proper application when using eyebolts, shackles, links, wire rope clips, thimbles, angle loading, slings (wire rope, synthetic web, synthetic round, and chain), horizontal angle stress, sling pads/softeners, spreader bars.
This course allows the student to become a qualified rigger to work within the fall zone and hooking, unhooking, or guiding a load, or doing the initial connection of a load to a component or structure per 29 CFR 1926.1425.
