A qualified rigger is a rigger who meets the criteria for a qualified person. Employers must determine whether a person is qualified to perform specific rigging tasks. Each qualified rigger may have different credentials or experience.
This course covers advanced rigging principles, safety requirements, and key considerations for safe rigging. Students participating in this course will be able to identify appropriate rigging techniques; they will understand sling angles and the stresses imposed.
This course is a requirement for an individual who is not employed by a licensed rigger who will perform rigging or signaling work during the hoisting or lowering of articles on the outside of a building within the 5 Boroughs of New York City (NYC).

This five hour class covers the common equipment used to move loads, such as cable, chains, slings and hoists, as well as the safety practices required. During this course we will cover equipment inspection, center of gravity, hand signals, capacities, to name a few.
