Master roasters will develop in three competencies including a deep understanding of green bean quality, heat transfer and the roasting systems and sensory analysis.
Our founder had a friend in Guatemala that had been farming for five generations and was famous for making some of the best coffee in the country. And yet, lost the family farm because of a lack of business acumen.
She also knew many people who owned coffee shops and had some of the best coffee but were failing because they lacked business and marketing skills.
She was motivated to make the coffee market more sustainable by founding an institute focused on teaching business applications as well as coffee skills.
This class is perfect for anyone, from home roasters looking to take that “next step” to experienced roasters looking for an introduction to the Mill City’s interesting variable drum and fan speeds.
This is a three-day class comprised of lecture, coursework, and practical evaluation. Its required prerequisite is successful certification in the Intermediate level for the same module, plus passing a required 6-month waiting period between Intermediate certification and enrollment in this class.
