Our rock band classes are tailored for fun and musical collaboration. We match band mates based on age and skill level, and try to keep our bands centred around growth and development.
Playing music with others is key to success in the music industry, and for many, rock band classes are the first exposure to this style of working. Getting students comfortable playing around their peers and working as a team to achieve a goal is paramount in music education. Plus, it’s a blast!
Here at the Hamilton Academy of music we work to unite traditional music education and practical exams with modern techniques and technology to enable students to become adaptable, creative and self sufficient artists. With the ever changing music industry, our goal is to modernize music education and keep music relevant and engaging while still focusing on the musical language and how it connects to all styles of music.
Students are taught at their own pace to understand the musical language which includes reading and writing sheet music, and understanding how scales and chords function and interact in traditional and modern styles of music.
Whether it's analyzing our favorite music, recording our own songs, or preparing for an exam or performance, we are working towards an understanding of the musical language and how it can be used for your specific needs.
Music theory is an integral part of music education. Understanding music notation is the foundation of playing an instrument with precision. It not only complements and enhances practical studies, but also stimulates development and a greater understanding of music.
This course focuses on the advanced operation of Pro Tools in a professional post production environment. I
It’s a strength to have when auditioning for music programs and pursuing music in High School. Theory helps improve mathematical and lingual abilities, as well as enhancing brain functions.
This course provides a more detailed look at the Pro Tools system above and beyond the knowledge you gained in the Pro Tools 101 course.
The band consists of 2 or 3 guitar players, a bass player, a drummer, and a vocalist. My students often discover that they have a great voice and end up taking turns singing lead in the band
