Russian language is being taught in the University of Pune since 1964. In the year 2014 the Russian Section celebrated its Golden Jubilee. The Russian Section offers part time as well as post graduate courses including M. Phi. And Ph.D. Till today the Russian Section has produced 4 Ph.D. and 2 M.Phil degrees.
The Russian Section has also successfully completed two UGC Major Research Projects; first in the period 2002-2005 and the second 2007-2010. Both the Projects were completed in time and the proceeds of the research were published in the form of two dictionaries - A Russian-Marathi Dictionary and A Marathi-Russian-German Trilingual Dictionary, probably a first of its kind.
Many of our alumni are working in translation and localizing areas. Some are working in BPOs while some are working as teachers of Russian Language.

The Department of Foreign Languages was started in 1949. This department offers courses in French, German, Russian, Japanese and Spanish at various levels, from elementary to post graduate courses (M.A., M.Phil, Ph.D.) batches are conducted in the mornings as well as in the evenings at various centers in the city for the convenience of part time students. Over 1500 students are enrolled every year for the courses offered by the department.
The Certificate, Intensive Certificate, Diploma, Intensive Diploma, Advanced Diploma and the Special Diploma courses in all languages are part-time courses held at many centers and at different timings to suit the needs of students and professionals. The post graduate courses offered in French, German and Russian are full time courses.
From June 2001 onwards our M.A. courses have incorporated the credit-system by means of which a student will be evaluated on the number of credits he/she has collected during the semester and not by means of an examination. This will enhance inter-disciplinary interaction and the student will have a wider choice of subjects to study from.
The official language of Russia is Russian. Russian language emerged on the basis east-Slavic languages: with Russian state establishment there came the need to develop average dialect equally understandable to all tribes.

Russian is also a significant the outnumbered language in the Baltic countries and Central Asia, and is still used as a lingua franca in the former Soviet countries. Interesting examples include bolshevik, cosmonaut, mammoth, pogrom, samovar, sputnik, taiga, tsar, ushanka and vodka.
The Russian Language Training at KVCH is conducted in modern infrastructure and newly-designed labs for students to pursue and practice various courses at KVCH. We train thousands of students every year from different countries of the world in various courses especially Russian Language.
Croma campus offers Russian language classes. We provide both native and Indian trainers, as our language faculty. Also included in our course are plays, audio-visuals and workshops which can further enhance the accuracy and usage of the language.
