The University of Sheffield offers Russian language at a variety of levels, so whether you wish to study a degree focusing on the language, you are interested in supplementing your degree with a language module, or are a member of the public, we have the right course for you.
Teaching in Russian is provided by the School of Languages and Cultures (SLC), and there are a variety of options available to include Russian:

If you aren't studying a language degree but would still like to experience learning Russian at university, you can do so through ''Languages for All''. Languages for All is a university-wide scheme for all students wishing to develop foreign language skills, either by learning a new language from scratch, or continuing to build on existing language experience.

We offer Russian Language classes to children from 4 years and older. The aim of our classes is to nurture the interest in Russian language and culture in our pupils and to encourage the use of Russian language as a language of communication in bilingual children.
In lingual courses you will develop your Russian language four skills of learning (speaking, reading, listening, and writing) and also cross-cultural communication skills, being able to effectively interact with native speakers in real-world situations.
Russian Language course is offered by Language Class. Our courses are taught by highly qualified and experienced teacher who are extremely dedicated to ensuring you leave with all the necessary skills to broaden your horizons and never be lost for words again.
This 20 week course will introduce some of the basic structures of Russian through topics related to social and everyday life in the countries where it is spoken. The focus is on listening,speaking and reading simple materials that introduce basic grammatical structures.
We care about your progress. Where other courses might leave you in pairs to practice with someone at the same level as you, our trainer pays attention to each individual student and is always on hand to correct errors along the way.
