This Safe Access Scaffolding Basics course is for any employee who may be expected to complete work-related tasks that involve assembling, altering, dismantling, movement, repair, maintenance, inspection and use of industrial scaffold.
This Safe Access Scaffolding Basics course will also establish an understanding of the statutory requirements of the federal COHS, Provincial and Territorial OH&S legislations.
We will achieve this through discussion and by participating in skills practice and performance evaluation. This course will provide the participant with the necessary knowledge regarding:
Causes of Accidents & Injury.
Hazard Awareness & Control Procedures.
Scaffold Inspections.
Assembly & Dismantling Procedures.
Support Footings, Stability & Load Capacity Requirements.
Scaffold Planking, Walkway & Guardrail Requirements.
Hoisting & Rigging, (use of tag lines).
Falling Object Protection & Fall Protection Systems.
Awareness Training – Requires 4 hours of participation and is designed to provide general knowledge to the user. A Safe Access Scaffolding Basics User Certificate is issued.
Operation Training – Requires the 4 hours of participation, but will expand on three options for Erector Certificates:
