Chemsain Konsultant Sdn Bhd was founded by the late Mr Chan Woon Peng (Chartered Chemist, FRSC, FMIC) on 19th November 1984 after he retired as Director of Chemistry Department, Sarawak to provide laboratory testing services.
In the 1990s, the company identified a need for environmental services and through a span of more than 3 decades, Chemsain is now one of the largest and most established companies in Malaysia to provide an integrated range of services in the fields of Environment, Engineering, Laboratory Services and Occupational Safety and Health (OSH).
Over the past three decades, the company has seen steady expansion of its technical capabilities, geographical presence and client base through strategic growth planning. Our laboratories are accredited to ISO/IEC 17025 and ilac-MRA and have received multiple awards for good laboratory practices from the Chemical Institute of Malaysia.
Chemsain is also registered with the Federal Treasury of Malaysia, Department of Environment (DOE), Natural Resources and Environmental Board (NREB), Environmental Protection Department, Sabah (EPD), Petroliam Nasional Bhd. (PETRONAS), Unit Pendaftaran Kontraktor Negeri Sarawak (UPK) and Ministry of Finance Malaysia (MOF).
Chemsain now employs more than 500 dedicated multi-disciplined staff consisting of scientists, engineers, and technical support personnel spread over ten Malaysian offices, one in Brunei and worldwide affiliates. Given the diversity of expertise in its staff and services, Chemsain is a one-stop agency for environmental, engineering, scientific and occupational safety & health services.
