Our Safe Working at Height training course is designed for persons who are required to work at heights or in the vicinity of drops in excess of 2 metres.
Participants will develop skills to select height safety equipment and apply it to specific tasks whilst working in accordance with Height Safety Regulations, Australian Standards and relevant codes of practice.
Participants will have an understanding of risk assessment procedures and permits to work at height. They will also undergo practical instruction in the correct use of height safety equipment. This course can be tailored to suit your company’s specific requirements.

Practical scenarios will be completed which will be based upon the individual needs of your workplace, e.g. restraint systems, fall-arrest systems, roof systems etc.
Course Prerequisites
There are no restrictions on entry to this course however students are required to have sufficient numeracy and literacy skills to read and comprehend instruction(s).
Unit of Competency
Participants who successfully complete all components of the course will be issued a Statement of Attainment for the RIIWHS204E Work safely at heights unit of competency.
Course Assessment
Written & practical assessment.
Course Delivery & Duration
Classes run over a day. Training starts at 8:30am and finishes at 4:30pm. All students are required to be present 15 minutes before course commencement time. Late arrivals may be refused from the course as a failure to attend. Training occurs at Eagle Training Services training facilities located in Darwin & Alice Springs.
Participants undertake the course in comfortable, air-conditioned classrooms with the latest IT and audiovisual capabilities. Students are supported through the provision of high quality learning materials and resources.
With this in mind we are able to offer an extensive range of safety courses which can be tailored to meet your specific organisational needs. We are able to offer on site training for your organisation or public courses within our training facility. All safety courses come with hands on practical application and training.
Telehandler Card – is designed to ensure that the holder has been trained and determined competent in the safe use and operation of various types of Telehandlers up to 3t in size.
The Licence to Operate a Boom-Type Elevating Work Platform Course is conducted at your workplace with our Qualified Trainers/Assessors. The course is a 1 day course for experienced operators or 1-2 days for inexperienced operators
This training course will teach personnel when gas testing is required, how to conduct gas testing and how to determine if the atmosphere is safe to work in. Many practical exercises are included as part of the training and involves ‘hands on’ experience operating gas testing equipment.
Consultation with the worker regarding any specific issues they have with the vehicle. Assessment of the workers current vehicle set up – sitting posture, entering and exiting the vehicle, working within the vehicle, unloading and loading of the vehicle.
This unit covers the skills and knowledge required to recognise and assess conditions that require gas testing; test the working atmosphere using an electronic test apparatus and interpret the results to determine if it is safe for the proposed job activity.
