The Diocese is overseen by the Bishop of Southwell and Nottingham, and assisted by the Bishop of Sherwood, Archdeacons and senior staff, and administrated by the Parish support team of the Diocese of Southwell and Nottingham Board of Finance (DBF).
The DBF, based at Jubilee House in Southwell, sits at the heart of the Diocese to resource, enable and support Parishes in our shared ministry and mission.
The Board is an incorporated, charitable body which is the Diocese’s financial executive and the employer of its staff.
The School of Discipleship is our home for training in discipleship and ministry, supporting the diocesan vision for ‘growing deeper’.
It’s a place to strengthen the foundations of your faith, to follow Jesus in everyday life and be equipped to serve the church through training, events and resources which complement what your local church already offers.
We aim to provide high quality training that is biblically-faithful and everyday-relevant, wherever you are in your journey of faith.
By encouraging delegates to work in situations that are unfamiliar to them, just outside of their comfort zones, they can see how they operate and behave when under pressure. The most important aspect of experiential learning is making the lessons learnt relevant to their own working environment.
