This Safety Harness Train the Trainer course is a 2 days course which is specifically designed for any person who is involved with working at height and the use of harnesses.

You will be able to train basic safe working at height along with the safe use of harnesses, fitting, use of fall restraint and fall arrest harnesses. You will also be able to carry out competent person safety harness inspections.

This course is suitable for beginners, up to experienced practitioners. We incorporate all levels of experience within the training. This Safety Harness Trainer course is suitable for training employees in industries such as, but not limited to:

  • Construction

  • Roof Work

  • Warehouse

  • Landscaping

  • Garage/Workshop

  • Scaffolding

  • Offshore

  • Marine

  • Electricals

 

 

Course Aim:  

  • For the delegate to be able to deliver their own courses in Harness Safety training and basic Working at Height.
  • The training also covers the inspection, fitting and use of fall restraint harnesses.

 

Certification:  

  • City & Guilds Profile of Achievement Award 3791 and an NTS Trainers certificate.

 

Location:  

  • Our open courses are held at our training center Unit 1, Adams House, Northampton Science Park, Kings Park Road, Moulton Park Industrial Estate, Northampton, NN3 6LG.

  • All handouts with underpinning knowledge, PowerPoint Presentation, Lesson Plan, Step-by-Step Guide, Trainer’s Manual, Practical and Theory Assessment Guidance, Key faults found in learners, Post Course Telephone help-line, City & Guilds Certification and Registration.

 

Length Of Course:

  • 2 days

 

Learning Outcome:  

  • By the end of the course the participant will be able to display an understanding of:
  • Basic overview of the Work at Height Regulations

  • Hazards and risks when working at height

  • Fall prevention, fall restraint & fall arrest.

  • Harness types and standards

  • Component parts of fall arrest systems

  • Inspection of harnesses and lanyards

  • Competent person safety harness inspections

  • Correct wearing and fitting of harnesses (practical exercise)

  • Storage and care of equipment

  • Rescue provision requirements

  • Structuring and delivering training including dealing with various learning styles

  • Assessment of trainees

  • £795 + VAT per person inclusive of:
  • Registration and certification

  • Assessment.

 

Is This Course Approved By City And Guilds?  

  • Yes

 

Assessment Criteria:  

  • There is a written test and the trainees will be assessed on the practical element.
  • The training involves candidate participation with the emphasis on the practical element of the training.
  • On day two the candidate will carry out a practical training session on which they will be assessed.

City And Guilds Profile Of Achievement:  

The candidate will complete a pre-course questionnaire, a mid-course interview and a post-course professional discussion to fulfil the requirements of the City and Guilds Profile of Achievement criteria.
