Course Details

This course is designed for those interested to be a certified Safety & Health Officer by DOSH. During the course, participants will learn to evaluate and monitor health and safety hazards and develop strategies to control risk at the workplace following OSHA 1994 & BOWEC REGULATIONS 1986 requirements.

They will perform a practical exercise to inspect construction sites and to ensure compliance with workplace safety regulations as required by the law which includes aspects of handling and storage of hazardous substances etc.

?Pursuant Section 29 (2) of OSHA 1994, there is a need for an employer to employ a competent person to act as a Safety and Health Officer at the workplace.

The Safety and Health Officer’s job is to ensure compliance with the Act and promote the safe conduct of work at the workplace. This program has been designed to address the needs of the Act and specifically the Occupational Safety and Health (Safety and Health Officer) Regulations 1997.

 

Safety Officer Training:

  • Organize and Track Health and Safety Training of Site Staff
  • Organize and Conduct OHS Training Plans
  • Conduct Site Safety Orientations and Training as Required

  • Site Safety Officer (SSS)
  • Site Construction Supervisor or Superintendent
  • Occupational Health Officer
  • Any candidate wish to become SHO
  • Company Representative

Requirement:??

  • Excellent Verbal and Written Communication Skills in Malay & English
  • Possess Degree or Diploma
  • Possess a minimum of SPM/SPMV/MCE or equivalent with at least a Grade Three Pass. General certificate (SAP) or lower than Grade three will not be accepted.
  • For SPM/SPMV after year 2000, a minimum of 6C for Bahasa Melayu, English, Mathematics AND minimum 8E for Science/Physics/Chemistry/Biology AND Pass other 2 subjects in 1 certificate/examination or combination.
  • Applicants must attach ONE (1) certified true copy of SPM/SPMV/MCE Certificate/Diploma/Degree AND Identification Card/Passport.
