Saxophone Courses

All of our full time saxophone courses cover the key areas of technical skill associated with playing the sax, such as left and right hand technique, major and minor scales and modes, tone production, section playing, building repertoire, improvisation and soloing.

The London Music School offers unrivalled one-to-one tuition, harmony and theory classes, and song-writing and sight-reading lessons.

Full time courses include frequent participation in group workshops, rhythm workshops and recording sessions, giving students the opportunity to widen their experience in live performance and recording settings, working with other musicians and accompanying vocalists.

Directed by experienced saxophonist Pete Grogan, our courses aim to take students on a rewarding journey through contemporary music education as they develop their skill and confidence with their instrument.

Pete’s year of experience as a teacher and musician make him a really exceptional player, he has worked with many famous artists and appeared on numerous recordings, and was recently nominated for a Mercury Award with his band ‘Led Bib’. Pete’s has experience in and knowledge of all musical styles and teaches them in a way that is accessible to the student.

Sax Courses at the LMS cover rock, classical, blues, soul, jazz, funk, Latin, etc, meaning that students get the chance not only to focus on their preferred genre but also to vastly broaden their musical range.

Our courses place emphasis on the need to perform and students will gain experience in live performance, session playing and playing as part of a band.
