Scaffold Erector

Scaffold Erector course is offered by Safe-T-Con. Safe-T-Con’s vision is to supply cost effective, comprehensive, specialized safety training and development and to improve the knowledge of Employees to the benefit of the Employer.

  • Occupational Health & Safety Act, Act 85 of 1993 with specific reference to the principles of the Act, the duties of both Employer and Employees and to acts or omissions by employees
  • Construction Regulations 2014
  • General Safety Regulations
  • SANS 10085
• Chapter 1: Understand the nature and scope of access scaffolding
  • Identify PPE and other safety equipment for erecting and dismantling scaffold
  • Identify types of access scaffolding
  • Identify classes of scaffold platforms
  • Care for scaffold equipment and hand tools and use them correctly according to manufacturer’s instruction
  • Identify methods of stabilizing access scaffolding
• Chapter 2: Erect access scaffolding
  • Identify and report hazards and risks at the work site
  • Set out access scaffold equipment
  • Demonstrate handling of equipment during erection
  • Explain the sequence of scaffold erection in accordance with safe working methods
  • Erect a scaffold
  • Modify a scaffold according to instructions
  • Remove and sort excess materials from site
• Chapter 3: Dismantle access scaffolding
  • Identify hazards and risks related to dismantling of scaffolds
  • Follow basic action plans for the dismantling of access scaffolding
  • Dismantle access scaffolding in accordance with safe working methods
  • Stacked and stores dismantle scaffold equipment in demarcated lay-down area
  • Complete the removal of materials and equipment
