Many workers use EWPs (Elevating Work Platforms) on their job site to access project work at heights.  The Construction Projects Regulation requires that “An elevating work platform shall not be moved unless all workers on it are protected from ejection by being attached to an adequate anchorage point on the elevating work platform by a method of fall protection”

Program Content

This program focuses on safe practices when using scaffolds as work platforms. Scaffold use can present many dangers to workers who are unaware of or inattentive to safe scaffold procedures. Despite the dangers, working on a scaffold can be straightforward and safe if users are trained and follow safe assembly, use and dismantling procedures.

Provincial legislation outlines specific duties and responsibilities for employers, supervisors and workers. Knowing the rules and regulations is in everyone’s best interest.

Training program topics include:

  • Identifying scaffolding and ladder hazards
  • Recognizing safe scaffold setups and types of ladders
  • Knowing legislative requirements
  • Safe use practices

You will learn by:

  • Classroom interaction with experienced instructors
  • Exploring legislative requirements
  • Detailed handouts, videos and quizzes
