Course Details

Scaffolds are widely used in the construction and maintenance industry to give employees access to heights ranging from a few feet to over several hundred feet. But as the height increases, so do the risks.

A competent scaffolding person is one who is capable of identifying existing and predictable hazards in the surroundings or working conditions, which are unsanitary, hazardous to employees, and who has authorization to take prompt corrective measures to eliminate them. This course complies with CSA Z-797 “Code of Practice for Access Scaffolds”.

 

Upon successful completion of this course you should be able to:

  • Identify common types and components of scaffolds and terms associated with their use

  • Identify scaffold hazards

  • Recognize who may build and design scaffolds

  • Recognize required safe practices for working on or near scaffolds

  • Identify fall protection requirements specific to work on scaffolds

  • Understanding System Scaffold Tower building

  • Erect and dismantle a scaffold safely following Code of Safe Practice
