Course Overview
When you become a biology teacher, you will help students understand through the ideas of biology how the complex and diverse phenomena of the natural world can be described in terms of key ideas.
Helping students understand the world around them is extremely gratifying. You will educate curious young minds on animals, plants, fungi, and microorganisms and help them to interpret information about the natural world to identify patterns and relate possible cause and effect.
Teaching biology will help students to make improvements in their own lives and hopefully strive to create a sustainable world for generations to come.
When you teach Biology at secondary level, you will ensure that pupils have strong knowledge of:
Cell biology
Photosynthesis
Transport systems
Health, disease and the development of medicines
Coordination and control
Ecosystems
Inheritance, variation and revolution
